(Magnesium Chloride)

The star of the show! Magnesium is involved in over 300 processes and is essential to every system in the body. Since industrial farming practices have depleted our soils, less than optimal magnesium levels is a growing issue and results in myriad symptoms from cramps to insomnia. Magnesium is especially helpful for all kinds of tension, relieving stress and anxiety, easing tight, restless muscles and relieving all maanner of aches and pains.

This beautifully scented purple flower has been used for centuries for its calming effect on the nervous system and ability to reduce feelings of stress, anxiety, depression and pain. Traditionally, small pillows of dried lavender flowers were used to help people fall asleep. The active compounds, linalool and linalyl, have both a sedative and mood enhancing effect, promoting relaxation and feelings of wellbeing which allow our body and mind to wind down ready for a deep and restful sleep.

(Matricaria chamomilla)

Chamomile is a European flower with many small white petals, a yellow center and a sweet, comforting smell you might recognise from sleepy tea blends. Chamomile flowers have a sedative and anti-anxiety effect on the brain and body thanks to the presence of Apigenin, a natural compound which binds to our GABA receptors, inducing feelings of calm and relaxation throughout the whole nervous system, preparing both body and mind for deep sleep.

(Gaultheria procumbens)

Wintergreen Essential Oil has a fresh, some say medicinal, minty, forest scent. The active ingredient is methyl salicylate which is close in its molecular structure to Asprin and therefore has a potent analgesic action when applied topically. Wintergreen and Menthol act together in our Active range offering relief from the discomfort of sore muscles, painful joints and headaches.

Coconut Oil

(Cocos Nucifera)

Coconut oil is linked to some potential benefits for skin, including reducing inflammation, keeping skin moisturized and helping heal wounds. The medium-chain fatty acids found in coconut oil also possess antimicrobial properties that can help treat acne and protect the skin from harmful bacteria.

Coconut oil can actually help to diminish the signs of aging when used regularly. It soaks into skin and makes those little lines and wrinkles appear far less obvious.

(Arnica montana)

An increasing number of studies support the effectiveness of Arnica in reducing pain, swelling and bruising and in speeding up healing after physical trauma to the body such as accidents or surgery. We have included Arnica for this reason, to add to the pain relieving action of magnesium for those needing some extra support in this area. Arnica has been used for centuries as a homeopathic remedy and we are excited that the evidence is growing to support the use of this traditional medicine.

Capsaicin is a compound found in chili peppers that gives them their spicy kick.

The highest concentration occurs in the seeds, making them significantly spicier than the flesh.

Capsaicin has potent pain-relieving properties when applied to the skin in a cream. This is because capsaicin helps reduce the amount of substance P, a neuropeptide produced by the body that travels to the brain to signal pain

Menthol is a compound naturally present in peppermint which is commonly used in a wide range of cosmetic and dental products for its cleansing, refreshing and strongly cooling action on the skin. Methylsulfonylmethane, commonly known as MSM, is a sulfur compound which is naturally occurring in plants, animals and humans, it helps to form and repair connective tissues. Studies show MSM has the ability to significantly reduce inflammation, relieving the pain, stiffness and swelling of degenerative joints and supporting recovery from injury or surgery. Many people find that MSM improves their mobility and therefore quality of life.

Shea Butter

(Vitellaria paradoxa)

She Butter is extracted from the nuts of Shea trees which grow in West Africa. It remains solid at room temperatures as it is so rich with healthy saturated fats, lending itself perfectly to oil based skincare products, by helping to create that beautiful, rich, buttery smooth texture. Shea butter has many beneficial properties, it is anti-inflammatory, anti- fungal, and antioxidant. It restores the skins natural barrier function, promoting cell regeneration and protecting the skin from both moisture loss and free radical damage or irritation from environmental pollutants.

Vitamin E

(Alpha tocopherol)

Vitamin E actually refers to a group of essential, fat soluble, antioxidants also known as

Tocopherols. Vitamin E oil has long been used to repair damaged skin and to protect skin cells from the free radicals which cause our skin to age. Because of its powerful antioxidant action, tocopherols are commonly used in natural skin care and cosmetics in order to protect the oils from oxidising and becoming rancid… Think of it as your skin protective all natural preservative.

Xanthan Gum

(Xanthomonas campestris)

Xanthan Gum, which is a powder derived from sugar, is most commonly used as a natural food additive in order to thicken and stabilise liquids. True to it's name, it binds to itself to form a gum. We use Xanthan Gum in our Gel products in order to create a slightly thicker, spreadable consistency for easier application.

Used in our Daily Roll On, Ugly Bits Stick and Baby Roll On.


Hazelnut Oil

(Corylus Americana)

We included Hazelnut oil in our moisturiser because it is has such an exceptional nutritional profile. It is extremely hydrating oil, rich with nourishing omega oils and antioxidants vitamin A. C and E which work to repair damaged skin, protect against free radical damage and support collagen production. Hazelnut oil also contains powerful antioxidant flavonoids, most notably Tannins, their astringent quality is tonifying, helping to tighten and shrink enlarged pores, and balance out oily skin.

Water also forms emulsions in which the oil and water components of the product are combined to form creams and lotions.

Furthermore, water is an essential part of the skin's natural protective barrier and the NMF (Natural Hydration Factor).


Apricot Oil

(Prunus Armeniaca)

Apricot Kernal Oil is extracted from the seeds of apricots. It's has a light, non greasy feel, and is readily absorbed as it closely resembles the skins own natural oils, providing deep, long lasting hydration to the skin. Rich in Antioxidants - vitamin A which deeply nourishes and softens skin, Vitamin E which repairs and protects, and Vitamin C which promotes collagen production as well as Omega 6 and Omega 9 fatty acids which restore and strengthen the skins barrier function. Apricot Kernal Oil helps dry, sensitive or damaged skin become soft, supple and radiant.
