This beautifully scented purple flower has been used for centuries for its calming effect on the nervous system and ability to reduce feelings of stress, anxiety, depression and pain. Traditionally, small pillows of dried lavender flowers were used to help people fall asleep. The active compounds, linalool and linalyl, have both a sedative and mood enhancing effect, promoting relaxation and feelings of wellbeing which allow our body and mind to wind down ready for a deep and restful sleep.

Chamomile is a European flower with many small white petals, a yellow center and a sweet, comforting smell you might recognise from sleepy tea blends. Chamomile flowers have a sedative and anti-anxiety effect on the brain and body thanks to the presence of Apigenin, a natural compound which binds to our GABA receptors, inducing feelings of calm and relaxation throughout the whole nervous system, preparing both body and mind for deep sleep.

Wintergreen Essential Oil has a fresh, some say medicinal, minty, forest scent. The active ingredient is methyl salicylate which is close in its molecular structure to Asprin and therefore has a potent analgesic action when applied topically. Wintergreen and Menthol act together in our Active range offering relief from the discomfort of sore muscles, painful joints and headaches.

Coconut oil is linked to some potential benefits for skin, including reducing inflammation, keeping skin moisturized and helping heal wounds. The medium-chain fatty acids found in coconut oil also possess antimicrobial properties that can help treat acne and protect the skin from harmful bacteria.
Coconut oil can actually help to diminish the signs of aging when used regularly. It soaks into skin and makes those little lines and wrinkles appear far less obvious.

We have included Arnica for this reason, to add to the pain relieving action of magnesium for those needing some extra support in this area. Arnica has been used for centuries as a homeopathic remedy and we are excited that the evidence is growing to support the use of this traditional medicine.

Methylsulfonylmethane, commonly known as MSM, is a sulfur compound which is naturally occurring in plants, animals and humans, it helps to form and repair connective tissues. Studies show MSM has the ability to significantly reduce inflammation, relieving the pain, stiffness and swelling of degenerative joints and supporting recovery from injury or surgery. Many people find that MSM improves their mobility and therefore quality of life.

She Butter is extracted from the nuts of Shea trees which grow in West Africa. Vitamin E actually refers to a group of essential, fat soluble, antioxidants also known as
Tocopherols. Vitamin E oil has long been used to repair damaged skin and to protect skin cells from the free radicals which cause our skin to age. Xanthan Gum, which is a powder derived from sugar, is most commonly used as a natural food additive in order to thicken and stabilise liquids. True to it's name, it binds to itself to form a gum. We use Xanthan Gum in our Gel products in order to create a slightly thicker, spreadable consistency for easier application.

We included Hazelnut oil in our moisturiser because it is has such an exceptional nutritional profile. It is extremely hydrating oil, rich with nourishing omega oils and antioxidants vitamin A. C and E which work to repair damaged skin, protect against free radical damage and support collagen production. Hazelnut oil also contains powerful antioxidant flavonoids, most notably Tannins, their astringent quality is tonifying, helping to tighten and shrink enlarged pores, and balance out oily skin.

Apricot Kernal Oil is extracted from the seeds of apricots. It's has a light, non greasy feel, and is readily absorbed as it closely resembles the skins own natural oils, providing deep, long lasting hydration to the skin. Rich in Antioxidants - vitamin A which deeply nourishes and softens skin, Vitamin E which repairs and protects, and Vitamin C which promotes collagen production as well as Omega 6 and Omega 9 fatty acids which restore and strengthen the skins barrier function.
