One of the most common questions we are asked is:

“How do I use this for ….?”

It really does make a difference where and when you apply it (so it's a very valid point.) Here in a handy list is how to use it for some of the more common symptoms.

The morning / evening rule to remember:

Applying anywhere on the upper body in the morning will likely also result in more alertness and energy regardless of the symptom being targeted.

Applying to the lower body without treating a specific area of pain (e.g. knees) results in an calming effect.

When applied to the feet will help put you to sleep.

Condition specific uses:

Cramps:

For prevention rub onto cramp prone areas (before activity) and also after activity as part of a warm down routine to recover the depleted magnesium from your system and prevent post exertion cramps.

DOMS: (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness)

See Cramps above.

Joint Pain:

Use all around area of pain as needed, as well as on the tops of the feet before bed.
Do not exceed 5 times a day.
For the flakes use as any other bath flakes and enjoy the most relaxing time you’ve ever had.

Restless Legs:

Spray onto the legs and rub in for at least 30 seconds about 20 minutes before bed time. Do not wash your legs after applying it for at least 30 minutes.
If you are using the flakes then use as you would any bath flakes, again 20 minutes before bed.

Headaches/Migraines:

Rub into the base of skull/back of neck each morning to help prevent headaches.
Use on back of neck, temples and jaw to help them to go away.

Insomnia:

Rub onto the tops of your feet, heels and backs of legs before bed.
For flakes – take a relaxing soak with the flakes dissolved just before bed time.

Stress:

If you are stressed RIGHT NOW, then a quick spray rubbed into your chest.
To KEEP your stress levels down, rub into the tops of your feet and backs of the legs before bed.

Systemic / Optimisation / Resolving Magnesium Deficiency

Many conditions require what we call a systemic dose, that means it's not being applied for a specific use but rather for something more generalised health wise or to make sure you are not magnesium deficient.

Bear in mind the morning / evening rule here as it still applies...

For a good general dose we recommend applying to the chest area or as many of us at the company do, use it as an an alternative to your regular underarm deodorant. It is a very effective and odourless deodorant and it makes sure you're getting the systemic dose.
Because of the habitual use of deodorant it fits in with your existing hygiene routine and thus you'll be less likely to forget to get your daily magnificent magnesium.
